Chester J. Kwolek

1940 – 2021

Springfield – Chester J. Kwolek, 80, died peacefully Monday morning in a local nursing home.  Chet was born in Springfield, attended Homer Street School, Chestnut Street School, and graduated from Commerce High School.  He then went on to graduate from New England Institute of Anatomical Science and received his Funeral Director's License.  Chet worked as a license funeral director and embalmer for over 50 years.  He retired from Curran-Jones Funeral Home in 2005.  He was a longtime member of the Circus Fans Association of American, Circus Model Builders and the Circus Historical Society.  Sadly, Chet was predeceased by his son Robert Kwolek in 2001.  He leaves his wife Victoire (Michon) Kwolek; brother-in-law Rene Michon and his wife Shirley; sister-in-law Gloria Plouff and her husband Gerald; nieces and nephews; Douglas Kwolek, Laura Shotwell and her husband Robert, Sherry Michon and husband Tim, Michelle Plouff and Douglas Michon.  A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00am in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
