Christina (Szalicki) Mirolli

1959 – 2018

Key Largo, Florida – Christina Diane (Szalicki) Mirolli, 59, formerly of West Springfield passed away Monday August 27th surrounded by her loving family in Florida.  Christina was born in Holyoke, grew up in West Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School and San Mateo College in California.  She lived in California and Florida for the past 23 years.  She started her career as a Nurse's Aide at the Holyoke Soldier's Home and worked as an Activities Director for many nursing homes, hospices and hospitals over the years near her home in Half Moon Bay, California.  Christina always served the most least fortunate among us volunteering at the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Holyoke, the Peninsula Humane Society in California, multiple homeless shelters and the Feral Cats Society in Florida.  She leaves her husband of 35 years Mark Mirolli; siblings John, Francine, and Andrew Szalicki and Joanne Yacovone, and brothers and sister-in-law Tom and Michael Mirolli and Gina Robbins, and her father-in-law Gino Mirolli.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday, September 26 th from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  A private funeral will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation in memory of Christina Mirolli.
