Christine
Athens
November 26, 1927 – August 6, 2021
Christine Athens, born November 26, 1927, in Lynn, MA; went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, August 6, 2021. While on this earth, she had several different locations that she resided including Lynn & Revere, MA, as well as Mt. Dora, Florida before returning to MA in 2016. Chris was a life-long learner and whatever she set her hand to do, she did with passion and an attitude of excellence: the debate team in high school, an administrative assistant in adulthood, or keeping up with technology in retirement. Christine had a zest for life. She loved her family and only wanted the best for them. She's described as feisty, an encourager, passionate, and a sweetheart. Chris was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was devoted to prayer and Bible study. Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Theodore, and five siblings; Christine leaves behind 1 sister, Ann Willette; 2 children: George and Janet Athens, and Elaine (Jim) O'Hara; 8 grandchildren: Tony and Erin Athens, Chris and Katie Athens, Carolyn Athens, Jimmy and Rachel Athens, Mike and Chrissy Athens, Andrea Athens, Lauren (O'Hara) and Adam Picard, and Brian and Meredith O'Hara; 9 greatgrandchildren, plus nieces, nephews, and friends.
