Christine V Kavanagh

West Springfield - Christine V. Kavanagh, (formally Sister Ellen James SSJ), passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018. Christine was born December 25, 1928 to the late James A and Ellen (Fenton) Kavanagh. She was a dedicated teacher and religious educator locally until her retirement in 1997.  She is predeceased by her siblings, Genevieve Kalencki, Cecelia Kennedy, Barbara, James and George Kavanagh.  Christine leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.  A funeral Mass for Christine will take place Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones has been entrusted with arrangements.
