Christine Ann (Duda) Zaluga, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Christine was born on February 13, 1943 in Adams, MA, the daughter of Stephanie and Stanley Duda. She married Richard Zaluga on November 25, 1967 in Adams, MA. She lived with her husband in South Hadley for over 40 years. Christine attended St. Stanislaus School in Adams, MA and graduated from Adams Memorial High School in 1960. She graduated from Boston University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Following graduation she was employed by the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston as a registered nurse in the emergency room. After moving from Boston she worked as an instructor of nursing at Cooley Dickson Hospital in Northampton, MA. She retired in 2010 as Area Vice President of Gentiva Home Health in Springfield. She had passion for travel, which was exhibited by her trips to over 54 different countries including Australia, China, Brazil and the countries of Europe with her husband, but her favorite vacation spot was always Maui, Hawaii. She had a love for her family and especially adored her granddaughter. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother that always put her family first. She was often heard saying, especially to her cherished granddaughter, "You are always in my heart". She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 48 years Richard, her son Christopher, daughter-in-law Zuzanna, and her beloved granddaughter Michelle. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 am from CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by Mass in St. Patrick's Church at 10 am. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery.
