Clara Ann Morrison
1942 – 2014

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Clara Ann (Steinmez) Morrison, 72, died Monday in Mercy Medical Center. Ann was born in Springfield and has lived here all her life. She worked for 20 years at the former Eastern States Farmers Exchange, which is now Agway and for the past 25 years she has been the fiscal assistant for the Town of West Springfield Water Department, where she was a former union steward and active on the Sunshine Club. She was a 1960 graduate of West Springfield High School and was active with its reunion committee. A longtime member of the West Springfield United Methodist Church, she was a longtime Sunday School Teacher. Her husband Gordy K. Morrison died in November of 2000. She leaves a son Kirk G. Morrison of Naugatuck, CT; a daughter Darleen L. Morrison of West Springfield; her brother Alfons Steinmetz; three sisters Elizabeth Hays, Almeda Pothier and Janice White; eight nieces and nephews and her two Godchildren Brice and Michelle Herrick. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a brother Erwin. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 11:00am with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobola Road, Holyoke, MA 01040 or to the West Springfield United Methodist Church, 800 Amostown Road, West Springfield, MA 01089
