Obituary

Colette L. (Feree) Nichols, 59, died Friday in Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, grew up in East Longmeadow and graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1976. Colette was a devoted foster mom who loved to cook and travel. She served as a parent and military advocate and a school bus driver. Colette was one of those rare people who could never do enough for anyone. Any friend, any cause, any group that needed her help could count on her giving them all her time and attention until their problem was solved. She leaves her husband Leigh Catchepaugh, a son Bryan Nichols of North Adams, her father Stanton H. Feree Jr. of East Longmeadow and her cousins Sheryl, Leslie, Bonnie, Beth and Daniel. She was predeceased by her mother Jean Feree and son Johnny Nichols. The funeral will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Agawam Center Cemetery.
