WEST SPRINGFIELD – Daniel J. "Dapper" Goyette Sr., 77, died peacefully Friday evening surrounded by his loving family. Dapper was born the son of the late Arthur and Gerry (Gendreau) Goyette. He was raised in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield for the past 50 years. A retired sprinkler fitter for the Local #676 Sprinkler Fitters Union in Springfield, Dap was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, and "legend" in the Western Mass Touch Football league, playing into his 50's. Dan also served with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He loved trips to Atlantic City and was a fixture at the Dante Club, where he served on the Board of Directors, ran the Bocce league, helped in the kitchen and ran the monthly dinners. He leaves his wife of 59 years Dianne (Pumiglia) Goyette; four children Dan "Red Top" (Marianne DeCaro), Donald (Lory), Deena Ludwick (Brian Paul) and David (Liza); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Arthur and Carolyn Wright. The family would like to thank Baystate's 5 th floor surgical I.C.U., especially Cheryl, for their outstanding care and comfort. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at noon followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
