Daniel W. Riopelle

1966 – 2017

Feeding Hills – Daniel W. Riopelle, 50, died Sunday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his family.  Dan was born in Holyoke, the son of the late George Riopelle and Dorothy (Fitzgibbon) Lafreniere and her husband William.  He was raised and educated in the Forest Park Section and has lived in Feeding Hills for the past 2 years.  He was an Engineer/Trainer/Machinist for O.M.G. in Agawam.  Dan loved his family, especially vacations on the Cape and boating with his friends.  He leaves his loving wife Virginia M. Nugent; four children Daniel Schwartz, Sara Cirillo, Zachary Nugent, and Kayleigh Riopelle.  He also leaves his siblings Christine and David Riopelle, Doreen D'Amours and William and Kenneth LaFreniere; five grandchildren Skylee, Gabriel, Kylah, Alexis and Nickolai and five nieces and nephews Brandon Beaulieu, Michael, Lyndsey, Arianna and Lily Riopelle.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
