Daniel F. Walsh, 73, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Jan 19th, at home surrounded by family.  Born in San Francisco, son of the late Kenneth P. and K. Lorraine (O'Leary) Walsh, he grew up in Millbrae, CA and was a 1967 graduate of Serra High School. He worked for the San Francisco Police Department from 1972 to 1982. After being hurt on the job, Dan went into the hospitality industry. Dan was a 1986 graduate of the University of San Francisco. He worked for ITT Sheraton, Konover Hotel Corporation, and retired as Vice President of Falcon Hotel Group in Springfield, MA. In 1997, he was named the General Manager of the Year in North America for ITT Sheraton and was also the Vice Chairman of the Association of Franchise Sheraton Owners. Dan was a board member of the Massachusetts Lodging Association, chairman of the Spirit of Springfield, treasurer of the Springfield Business Development, and a longtime member of Crestview and Springfield Country Club. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve and a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.  He leaves the love of his life, his wife of 34 years, Susan M. (O'Shaughnessy) Walsh; one son, Robert S. Walsh and his wife Liz of San Mateo, CA; two daughters, Frances Walsh and her fiancé Robert White of Agawam, Bridget Walsh and her husband Yesid Nieto of Brooklyn; three brothers, Thomas and Linda Walsh of Woodside, CA, Timothy and Jody Walsh of Las Vegas, NV, James and Marie Walsh of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Sadie and Cassie Walsh; and numerous nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday, January 26 ^th at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Visiting Hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
