David M. Hill

1946 – 2018

AGAWAM – David M. Hill, 72, of Ruth Avenue died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  David was born in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Trade High School and has lived in Agawam for the past 44 years.  He served aboard the U.S.S. Essex for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Power Plant Engineer for S.T.C.C retiring in 2008 after 39 years.  David had a very deep love for his family. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Marjorie (Munn) Hill;  daughter Catherine Hill, son Brian Hill and his wife Anne Marie,  as well as, their daughter Emilia Hill who will always remember her "Umpa".  He was predeceased by his parents Willard and Alice (Gowens) Hill and his twin brother Donald Hill. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. John the Evangelist Church Monday at 10:00am for the Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00pm .  Please visit curranjones.com for more details.  For those wishing donations in David's name may be sent to Work Vessels for Vets, P.O.
