David F.
Larivee
July 16, 1952 – January 3, 2021
David F. "PA" Larivee, 68, died peacefully Sunday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield the son of the late Marvin and Eleanor (Sheridan) Larivee. David lived in West Springfield most of his life before moving to Agawam 30 years ago. As a young man he began his career as a skilled automotive mechanic, retiring from Brake King. David was a friend of Bill and member of the Joy of Living Group. David's daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of David's life. David loved the simpler things in life and a passion for the Boston Red Sox. He always had a smile on his face and a joke or snarky comment whenever he needed to brighten the lives of others. There was nothing David liked better than talking with anyone who would listen to his stories. He will be forever remembered as the "lollipop" king, and a fantastic baker, specializing in chocolate fudge and whoopie pies. He was a coach to many and took pride in being a PTO dad and helping others. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife Suzanne (Cook) Larivee in 2015 and his sister Judith Corley. He leaves his two daughters and their spouses Tanya and Frank Pugliano and Kaila and Cory Chianciola; five grandchildren Nicolas and Arriana Pugliano, Joseph, Aubrey, and Lucas Chianciola; two great grandchildren Nicolas and Leo Pugliano. He also leaves his siblings and their spouses Nancy Whitehead and Robert Blinn, Richard Larivee and Pamela, Marvin "Kip" Larivee and Robbin and Patricia Foley and Jim and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses on the 5th floor at Mercy Medical Center for the wonderful care and support given. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm with a burial in the Agawam Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
