David Rene Menard passed away peacefully at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke on Friday. He was born in Holyoke on April 27, 1950. David served his country in the Army as a Helicopter Mechanic during the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. David will be remembered for his passion for adventure and love of the New England Patriots. He is predeceased by his mother Barbara (Benoit) and is survived by his father Gerard Menard of Holyoke. His three daughters, Christine George and husband Mark, Jennifer Proulx and husband Scott , and Joanne Marios and husband Raymond. Siblings Michael Menard and wife Gayle, Paul Menard and husband Bruce, Dianne O'Connor and husband John, Richard Menard and wife Joanne, Douglas Menard and wife Brenda and Kevin Menard. David was predeceased by his grandson Corey Morrill and is survived by grandchildren Dereck, Jessica, Ashley, Alec, Rebecca, Katelyn, Ashton, and Cody as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral home service will be Wednesday at 12 noon at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service on Wednesday from 10 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery with Military Honors.
