West Springfield- David J. Minniear, 61 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 12 ^th , 2020. David, the son of Joseph Minniear and Carol Wilkinson, grew up in Grand Junction, CO and Las Vegas, NV before moving to West Springfield, MA in 2002. David was a proud operating engineer for over 40 years as a member of Local 98 Union. David was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. David loved fishing, gardening and spending time with family especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Papa. David touched so many lives in different ways; he was a charismatic joy that always made individuals feel included. David's sense of humor could make the hardest frowns laugh in a room full of darkness he was the shining light that broke through. David is predeceased by his Father Joseph and Step Father JC Wilkinson. David is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years Michele Minniear. David also leaves his four daughters; Crystal Johnson and Husband Robert Johnson of East Longmeadow MA, Sara Szalkiewicz and Husband Justin Szalkiewicz of Somers CT, Brittney Minniear of West Springfield MA, Samantha Minniear and Fiancé Keith Barrington of West Springfield MA. David is also survived by his sister Sandra Henderson of Palisade CO and brother James Minniear of Las Vegas NV.

David also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Olivia, Savanna, Jackson, Charlotte, Hunter, Aurora, Codey, Ethan, Nolan, and Cole as well as many extended family members.

Funeral services will be held for David at the West Springfield Curran Jones at a later date.
