Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – David S. Ruddock, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Stephen and Alice (Hickland) Ruddock.  He is the brother of Mark Ruddock, Bruce Ruddock, Linda Ruddock, Barbara (Ruddock) Link, Judy (Ruddock) Krayeski, and Mary (Ruddock) Delude.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.  David was supported in his life through what is now Pathlight, Inc., formerly The Association for Community Living, since 1976, and was a proud and independent man who lived his life as he wanted, always advocating for himself and others to honor and respect his choices and decisions.  He worked for many years through supports from Aditus, Inc., at F.L. Roberts as a store clerk.  Subsequent to that, David worked at Pathlight through supports by Viability, Inc. David was a big fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and supporter and for years season ticket holder to the Springfield Indians/Falcons/Thunderbirds hockey team.  David loved bowling, being out in the community and hanging around with the people he knew and going to where he wanted throughout the day.  David enjoyed helping anyone with tasks, especially outdoors, and always appreciated the help of his friends, staff and family with the things he wanted in life and with the way he wanted to live his life.  David resided in different residences since 1976, and touched many people's lives and was best buddy to many of them.  He will be sadly missed by his current housemates, John and Titus, and remembered fondly by all that he knew.  All services are private.
