David G. Salter Sr.
1948 – 2014

WEST SPRINGFIELD – David G. Salter Sr., 65, of Hayes Avenue died Tuesday at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. David was born and raised in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield for the past 41 years. He worked as an alarm installer for Safe Home Security for 10 years and previously as a 24-year Supervisor for Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow. A communicant of the former Holy Family Parish, he served on the Parish Council, as Eucharistic Minister and Usher. More recently he has attended St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church. He leaves his wife of 37 years Deborah L. (Silva) Salter; three children Lucina Barrett and her husband Mike of West Springfield; Jennifer Doe and her husband Mike of Southwick and David G. Salter Jr. of Mystic, CT. He also leaves two sisters Brenda Adams and Nancy Theriaque; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Kayla, Seth, Nicholas, Isa and Luke; two great grandchildren Nicolina and Andrew and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
