Delfina (Forni) Kaveney, 80, died Thursday in Baystate Medical Center. She was born and raised in Springfield before moving to West Springfield after marrying her husband John Kaveney. She worked at John R. Fausey School and at the West Springfield Middle School where they initiated a "Dell Day" in her honor. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and taking leisurely rides with her husband and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and making tortellinis with both family and friends. Delfina always had a kind word and welcomed everyone into her home. Besides her husband John she leaves two daughters Sandy Fickert of Easthampton and Holly Cicerchia of Springfield and two grandchildren Abby and Vivian. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Forni and her parents Walter and Galilea Forni. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 am from the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 11:30 am. Committal services will follow at the Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 pm.
