Obituary

Delores Augusta Daly, died Monday September 17, 2018 at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke. She was born June 11, 1935 in Holyoke to the late Antonio Augusto and Judite DeGracia, and lived in South Hadley most of her life.  Delores graduated from South Hadley High School, where she met her husband of 62 years, David Daly.  She later attended Comptometer School and worked in that field for many years.  Delores retired from Brennan Books at Mount Holyoke College in 1989 where she took great joy in getting to know the faculty, staff, and especially the students.   She was a Trustee of the South Hadley Public Library, worked with St. Theresa's CYO, and was a former President of SOHAWO.  Delores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and most importantly a great friend. She will also be remembered for her signature meatballs, as a diehard Red Sox fan, and as an avid murder-mystery reader. Delores leaves her husband David Daly, her children Timothy, Christopher, and Elizabeth, her granddaughter Caroline, her nephew Robert Krausse, sister-in-law Mary Daly Clark and her husband Terry and their children Terry and Timothy, brother-in-law Thomas and his wife Ann and their children Thomas and Maura, and family friends John and Debbie Murphy and their children Ellen and Jason. She was predeceased by her sister Mercia Augusta Krausse in 2016, her brother-in-law Robert Krausse in 2013, and her daughter-in-law Christine Himes Daly in 2011. The funeral will be Friday at 9 am from Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by Mass at 10am at St Patrick's Church, 30 Main St. South Hadley. Burial in St. Rose Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the South Hadley Public Library, 2 Canal St South Hadley, or to The Jimmy Fund, P.O.
