Obituary

Delores O'Rourke 81, a woman whose laughter and kindness touched countless lives, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her daughters and nephew, Jim Mitchell.   Born on June 18, 1943, to the late Louis and Elisa Sartori. Delores was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—known for her generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. A longtime employee of West Springfield High School, Delores brought warmth and joy to everyone she met, whether through her delicious cooking or her ability to lift spirits. She cherished her role as "Grandma" and adored her four grandchildren—John, Cayla, Thomas, and Liam—always making time for silly games, and creating memories they will forever treasure. Delores found great joy in traveling with her daughter Lisa. Enjoying summers spent laughing and creating lasting memories with her brother Stephen and her friends. She was also a proud member of the former St. Anne Church Choir. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward O'Rourke but leaves behind her loving daughters—Ann Marie and Her husband John Ware of Simsbury, CT, Lisa and her husband Michael Forand  and Susan and her husband Michael Harper- all of West Springfield, her adored grandchildren, John, Cayla, Thomas and Liam,  her brother Stephen  Sartori (Pamela), her sister Mae Balboni (Ken), and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her humor, kindness, and the light she brought into their lives. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by her twin sister Dora Mitchell. Delores legacy is one of love, laughter, and an open heart—her family takes comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the countless lives she brightened. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held TUES 11:45 AM in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Spfld. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling Hours will be held on TUES from 10 to 11:15 AM at the CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 MAIN ST., W. SPFLD.
