Dennis S. Buell, 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Westfield, son of the late Dennis S. Buell, Sr. and Mary (Corcoran) Buell, he lived in Agawam for many years.  Dennis had worked as a truck driver for Western Massachusetts Hospital for forty years and after his retirement worked for Big Y.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5585, the Agawam Lions Club. A World War II veteran, Dennis joined the United States Army at the age of 17 and finished his 20 years of military service at the 104 ^th Fighter Wing, Barnes ANG Base. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, a long time Little League Coach in Westfield and Agawam and sang with the Agawam Senior Chorus.  He leaves his wife of 66 years, Alice M. (Gamache) Buell, two sons, Michael (Ann Marie) of Westfield, Lawrence (Jennifer) of East Longmeadow, two daughters, Mary (Gary) Stark of Chicopee and Kathleen (Scott) McEwan of Agawam, grandchildren Martin, Christopher, Jonathan, Nathaniel, David, Jessica, Andrew and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10am.
