Dolores
Hickson
December 27, 1931 – August 8, 2023
Dolores (Woodmansee) Hickson, at the young age of 91, entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2023. She was born in Norwich, CT, daughter of the late Albert H. and Jean A. (O'Connell) Woodmansee. She spent her younger years growing up in Florence, MA but lived the majority of her life in West Springfield with her husband, Samuel Hickson. For the past ten years, she has resided with her daughter Nancy in Westfield. Dolores was a 1950 graduate of the former St. Michael's High School and was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. Dolores was a loving wife and mother. The most enjoyable times of her life were spending time with her family, having sleepovers at her granddaughter Samantha & Kyle's home, watching "Murder She Wrote" with her other granddaughter, Renee, and going on several cruises with her daughter, Nancy. She also enjoyed coloring and playing "Pitch" (calling herself a Championship card player). Over the years, she enjoyed camping with her husband in Fort Myers, FL, playing bingo, scratch tickets, crocheting, going to Foxwoods with her late husband, Sam and gambling with Kyle at MGM Casino. Dolores was defined by all as quite the character who had her own style and personality. She was fun loving and everyone who met her immediately fell in love with her and called her "Gram." She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Samuel Hickson (2012), her sister, Arlene Dion, her son-in-law, Leandre LeBlanc, as well as her sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Joseph & Gloria Hickson, Mary Rose Hickson, Joan Weddle, James & Shirley O'Neil, Eleanor & George Beauchane and Mary & Edward Bovat. Dolores leaves her daughter, Nancy LeBlanc of Westfield, her granddaughters, Samantha and Renee LeBlanc and future son-in-law, Kyle Steinbock, along with several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass at 10am at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield. The burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 6-8pm. For online condolences, please visit www.curranjones.com.
