Donald C. Capponcelli, 89, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Springfield, son of the late Leo and Theresa (Cartello) Capponcelli, he was a lifelong resident of Agawam and a graduate of Agawam High School.  Donald worked for over thirty years for Longview Fibre Box before retiring in 1993.  He was a member of the West Springfield Lodge of Elks, enjoyed woodworking and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  He was also a navy veteran of the Korean War.  He leaves his wife of sixty-eight years, Barbara (Skerry) Capponcelli, four sons and their wives, Donald C. Jr. and Sandi Capponcelli of Vermont, Peter L. and Joan Capponcelli of CA, Barry M. and Tina Capponcelli of Agawam, Bruce A. and Kerry Capponcelli of VT, ten grandchildren, Eli, Eric, Kelly, Shannon, Amber, Scott, Kyle, Jacki, Keira, Olivia, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. The burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.  Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm.
