Donald W. Duquette

1944 – 2020

AGAWAM – Donald W. Duquette, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, including his cousin Bill Norman.  Donald was born, August 31, 1944 in Springfield, the son of the late Homer and Laurette (Pageau) Duquette.  He grew up in Springfield, was a longtime resident of West Springfield before retiring to Agawam.   Donald entered the United States Navy and served as a LSO talker on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War.  He retired as a Mechanical Engineer at the age of 65.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sports, especially the New England Teams. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Maureen; two sons David and his wife Amy of Agawam and Michael and his wife Nicole of Wilbraham; a sister Dianne Ascioti of West Springfield and five granddaughters Corey, Megan, Anita, Lilly and Kelsey.  Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  The committal service will be held in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery Tuesday at 11:00am.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
