Donald J. Krawczynski, 72, died Sunday in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Northampton, son of the late Joseph and Blanche Krawczynski. He retired as foreman at the West Springfield DPW, where he worked for over 30 years. Donny was a longtime avid softball player and bowler, playing softball in the local leagues and bowling at the West Springfield Lanes. Don also loved camping at Laurel Ridge. He served in the US Army in Germany for two years during the Vietnam War. He leaves his wife Gail (Whitaker) Krawczynski, his son Patrick Krawczynski of West Springfield, a sister Patricia Cross of FL, sister-in-law Lorrie Cotton and her husband Jack of West Springfield and several nieces and nephews. His family would like to thank all those at the Sr. Mary Caritas Cancer Center, the nurses at the Chemo Infusion Suite, Dr. Iyer and the nurses at Mercy Oncology and Dr. Olsheski at Radiation for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Don.
