Donald C. LaViolette, 88, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family at home Sunday, April 16, 2023. Born in Springfield to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Ghisellini) LaViolette. He served his country during the Korean war in the US Navy on the warship USS Daly. Resided in Agawam with his family for over 40 years before moving to Bradenton, FL after retirement. Don was a long-time business owner, Don's Plumbing and Heating, after previously working for Puppolo Plumbing. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing and music, playing the guitar and harmonica and spending time with family and friends. Don was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years Sally (Senk) LaViolette; his sons Donald P LaViolette and wife Sue of Orrington ME, Joseph R LaViolette and wife Christine of West Springfield, Anthony LaViolette of West Springfield and daughter Susan (LaViolette) Vandal and husband Steven of Agawam; and a sister Virginia Tippett of Indian Orchard. He was known as "Papadoodle" to his grandchildren Kerri Fruwirth, Alexis (LaViolette) Day and husband Nicholas; and Nicholas LaViolette; and great-grand daughter Saylor Fruwirth. Don also leaves behind Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law Susan and Ted Bulewich of West Springfield along with many nieces and nephews. Also leaves behind his canine companion Lucille Ball "Lucy". He was predeceased by his brother Robert LaViolette, sisters Betty Dean and Barbara Murray and his beloved grandson Joseph LaViolette, Jr. Funeral services will be held at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield on Thursday, April 27, 2023 with calling hours 11am-1pm with a service at 1pm. The burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. For online condolences, please visit www.curranjones.com
