Donald D. Moon, 70, passed away peacefully with his son by his side early April 5th. He was born October 7, 1954 to the late Donald C. and Elodia Moon. Don graduated from Commerce High School in '72 and went on to get a degree in landscape design and management technology from STCC, and graduating the UMass University Without Walls with a bachelor of science degree. He was the proud owner of Best Landscaping Company in Springfield for over 40 years before retiring late last year. Don enjoyed going for long rides on his Harley and had a passion for cooking and baking, always making delicious muffins or cakes. He loved spending time with his son having Sunday breakfasts with him or going to Red Sox games together. Don enjoyed the outdoors very much, hiking, hunting, and camping. He would give back to nature in so many ways, planting trees and feeding the outdoor wildlife, be it giving leftovers to the birds or feeding many a stray cat. He reunites with his beloved wife Susan (Richter) Moon, who passed on Feb 21, 2009. Don is survived by his son Samuel Moon of Spfld., his brother Phillip Moon and his wife Betty and their children Joshua and Nicole and their families.  Brother-in-law Gerald Piesz and nephew Daniel Nay and his family, along with several nieces and nephews, and his cats Amber and Johnny. Don was also predeceased by his sister Elodia Piesz in 2022. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10 AM at the CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 MAIN ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Tinkham Rd., Splfd.  Calling Hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Don's name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
