Donald Wells, 78, of Feeding Hills, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at home after a short illness. Born in Portland, Maine son of the late Edward and Grace (Berberian) Wells, he grew up in Springfield and was a graduate of Technical High School. In 1974 he joined the Agawam Fire Department where he was employed as a firefighter for thirty-two years. During that time he continued his education taking fire science courses at Springfield Technical Community College, became an EMT and was a member of the District 4 Hazmat Team. After retirement in 2006 he enjoyed golfing in the Monday afternoon Golf League at St. Anne Country Club. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Elena (Lamagna) Wells, a daughter, Pamala (Wells) Taylor of Feeding Hills, two stepdaughters and their husbands, Tracy (Cimaroli) and Stephen C. Kapantais of Salem, MA, Terri (Cimaroli) and James Creeden of Basel, Switzerland, four brothers, Richard Wells and his wife, Louise of The Villages, FL, Grant Wells, of Springfield, Russell Wells and his wife, Janet of Longmeadow, Kenneth Wells of Springfield, a sister, Patricia Cain of West Springfield, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Burbridge and David Wells. Calling Hours will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4 to 7PM at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper St., Agawam. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
