Donato Cataldo

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Donato Cataldo, 69, of West Springfield died Wednesday in a local nursing home surrounded by his family. Donato was born in Sarno, Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Angelina Cataldo, and has lived in West Springfield most of his life. He was a talented craftsman and master carpenter who owned and operated Cataldo Remodeling. A former member of St. Ann's Church in West Springfield, Donato served as the maintenance director at the church and member of the parish council. He leaves his wife of 46 years Margaret A. (Lawson) Cataldo; a son Donald A. Cataldo of West Springfield; a daughter Suzanne M. Curra and her husband of Connecticut; a brother John; three sisters Maria Rossi, Ellen Robinson and Ann Cataldo; two grandchildren Dominick and Matthew Curra and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Josephine Kimball. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
