On August 11, 2024, Donna Stafford West, born October 13, 1960 transitioned into eternal life.Donna, daughter of Edna and Lester Stafford, grew up in West Springfield. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1978 and went on to study at Roger Williams College, earning her degree in electrical engineering, then accomplishing her Masters Degree at WNEC. She was an engineer at Western Mass Electric Company for many years before meeting her husband Gary West, who she's been happily married to for over 35 years. Throughout her life, Donna lived all over world, including England, Poland, Kiev and South Africa, but her heart brought her back home to New England. Her and Gary settled in Springfield, where they've lived for the past 24 years. Her passion for architecture and design, and love for antiques and art, are highlighted throughout her historic home, a home that allowed her to fulfill her artistic ideas and share the  with all who entered. She loved spending hours in her garden, which looked like it came straight from the pages of House Beautiful. You could find Donna enjoying a James Taylor concert at Tanglewood, visiting New York City to watch an opera at the Met, or catching the latest play on Broadway. She loved Nantucket in September, hosting friends to watch the Kentucky Derby, and finding hidden treasures at the Brimfield Antique Flea Market. Donna spent her summers on Lake Wyola, at the cottage built by her father, a place that has shaped her life since childhood. Lake Wyola is a community that her family has enjoyed for over 73 years. It was there that Donna fell in love with nature and animals, she made sure logs were set for turtles to sunbathe, bird's nests went undisturbed until all the chicks had flown away, and she loved nightly boat rides to catch the magnificent New England sunset. Donna became the President of the Lake Wyola Association in 2017, serving the community she loved for many years. She is predeceased by her parents, Lester and Edna Stafford of West Springfield. She leaves behind the love of her life, Gary West, her sister, Doris Hayes of West Springfield, her Brother Charles Stafford and his wife Judy of Irvin , many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and her dog Eddie, who she loved to walk every day through Forest Park.
