Doris C. Pichette

1932 – 2018

South Hadley – Doris C. (Robichaud) Pichette, 85, died Monday evening in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  Doris was born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, lived in Aldenville before moving to South Hadley in 1966.  She worked at Shop Rite and Magri's before retiring from Mt. Holyoke College, where she worked as a housekeeper.  A longtime communicant of St. Theresa's Church, she was active with the HOST group and volunteered with the Take & Eat Program.  She also loved to volunteer with Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry and the South Hadley Senior Center, where she helped with the Newsletter, Brown Bag and with the special event meals.  Doris was always known for bringing baked goods for all her fellow volunteers.  Her husband Marcel Pichette died in 1996.  She leaves her daughter Lynne Smith; grandson Casey Smith; great grandson Tadhg Smith; three sisters Theresa Dion, Simone McKeon and Lillian Huard and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband she was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Maurice Robichaud and great granddaughter Sheree Smith.  The funeral will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home Monday at 10:00am with Liturgy in St. Theresa's Church at 11:00am.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 10:00 – 10:30am at the funeral home.  For more details please visit curranobrien.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors or the South Hadley Senior Center.
