Dorothy (Hayes) Drewnowski, 84, of The Villages, FL died Wednesday May 7, 2014 at The Villages Regional Hospital. She was born in Hartford, CT on June 4, 1929 the daughter of the late James and Cecelia Hayes before becoming a resident of Agawam for 60 years then moving to Florida in 2008. She was the widow of Henry A. Drewnowski, Sr. who retired from the Agawam Police Department after 30 years of service and died in 1986. Dorothy is survived by three sons: Henry Drewnowski, Jr. and his wife Sandy of The Villages, FL, Michael Drewnowski and his wife Donna of Feeding Hills, MA, Stephen Drewnowski and his wife Michelle of Dixon, CA; five grandchildren: Bryan, Brett, Alyssa, Amber, and Leah; three great-grandchildren: Seth, Alexa, and Amelia; and sister Mary Twarkins of Pensacola, FL. She was predeceased by her siblings, Cecelia Darcy and Helen Powers. Dorothy was very active in Agawam as a Board Member of the Senior Center and Community Preservation Committees; and member of the Polish American Club Woman's Auxilary and Gridiron Moms; and Oak Ridge Country Club.
Calling hours will be held at Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street, Agawam on Monday from 4 pm until 7 pm. Her funeral services will be held at Curran-Jones on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Springfield Street Cemetery in Feeding Hills.
