1944-2016

WEST SPRINGFIELD-Earl "Ken" Carrington, 72, died Thursday surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with multiple illnesses. Ken was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Town of West Springfield and was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. He was also a Vietnam Air Force veteran.  He was a former vice-chair on the Commission on Disability for the Town of West Springfield and a member and volunteer for the Friends of the Senior Center for over 30 years. Ken was also a lifetime member of K of C Council 4044 and a Fourth Degree for Assembly 2670 both in Chicopee. He leaves his wife of 49 years Gail (Perodeau) Carrington, son Ken Carrington of Agawam, daughters Brenda Bostwick of LA, Lisa Guerette of Agawam and Laurie Hembree of Westfield, brothers Warren of West Springfield and David of Chicopee, eleven grandchildren Kenny, Julie, Angela, Emily, Kayla, Kristopher, David, Alyssa, Amanda, Dillon and Colin and nine great grandchildren Alexis, Jonathan, Jandi Rae, Sierra, Jason, Jonathan, Haley, Michael and Dakota Ray. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 am from West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10 am. The burial will be in Paucatuck Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7pm.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the West Side Senior Center or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
