1914-2010
SOUTHWICK, MA-Edmond J. Perigard, 91, formerly of Milford, Connecticut died on Thursday, December 23rd at home at The American Inn, Assisted Living in Southwick, MA from his battle with cancer. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on January 14, 1919, Ed was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Johnson) Perigard who was his loving wife of 44 years and died in 1991. He is survived by his son Craig Perigard & Kathleen Lynch of Hamden, CT, his daughter Marlene Harlin and husband Paul Harlin of Feeding Hills, MA. Also survived by his five grandchildren Ryan, Jeff, and Scott Harlin, Nicole and Derek Perigard and five great-grand children. Ed was the son of Margaret Molinek who died at the age of 100 in 1995. Ed was a Veteran serving in Europe in WWII from 1935-1945. After his discharge Ed chose to work in the trucking industry and was a member of Teamsters Union in Connecticut. In the mid 1980's Ed was President of the Wepawaug Shrine Club of Pyramid Temple in Milford, CT where he served driving children & parents to the Shriners Hospital in Spfld, MA. He also enjoyed playing the role of a clown in the The Little Wheels division marching in parades. Ed was also proud to be a Mason. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milford, CT Ed served as Deacon as well as many other positions. He also was a Volunteer Firemen for a few years. Ed moved to Winter Garden, Florida with his love Helena Nolan for a few short years before moving to Southwick, MA to be close to family. Ed will be remembered as a Red Sox, Dallas Cowboy & New England Patriots Fan. Most remarkable about Ed was his wonderful personality. He will be remembered for the way that he touched so many lives wherever he lived. He nurtured friendships and truly set out to bring a smile to someone's face each and every day. A memorial service will be held in Ed's honor at Christ Lutheran Church, 568 College Highway, Southwick, MA on Wednesday, December 29th at 5:00pm. Private burial will be at the Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden, CT on Thursday, December 30th. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse Assoc. & Hospice, P.O. Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102-9058. The family would like to thank the phenomenal people both at the American Inn, as well as Hospice who provided such outstanding service. The Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
