Edna (Frangie) "Chickie" McCain, 92, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center.  Born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Simon and Edna (Hendrickson) Frangie, she was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a 1946 graduate of Commerce High School.  Edna worked as a bookkeeper for over thirty years for Peter Pan Bus Lines before her retirement. Edna was an avid reader and brilliant on the daily crosswords.  She also enjoyed riding the PVTA buses all over the city just for the fun of it.  But it was the love for her family that was most meaningful to her.  She leaves to cherish her memory, a son Ronald, three daughters, Nancy, Debbie, Susan, two grandchildren, Aidan, Christie, six great-grandchildren, Luis, Jullian, Warren, Owen, Weston, Wade and five great-great-grandchildren.   She was predeceased by an infant son, John and a grandchild, Warren. The funeral will be Friday at 11am at the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Calling hours will precede the service on Friday from 9:30-11am.
