Edward J. Barstis, Jr., 63, an unexpected sudden passing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Hartford, son of the late Edward Barstis and Marie Grecco Collins, he grew up in Windsor Locks and in West Springfield for a long time. Edward was a Master Auto Body Technician for Langonet Auto Body in Agawam. He was a former race car driver at Riverside Park and a NASCAR enthusiast. He enjoyed going to the Stafford Speedway often with friends and family. Edward did remote control car racing, loved animals, birds, the beach, rock music,  Tasha and Percy and his dog Chancey. He leaves his fiancee of fourteen years, to whom he was to be married on April 4, 2026, Anne Blossom McManus of West Springfield, her father, John K. Blossom of Springfield,   son, Edward J. Barstis, III, a daughter, Carissa (Barstis) Gurczak and her husband Timothy, a brother, David Barstis of Granby, CT, a sister, Elizabeth Barstis of Okahumpa, FL, four nieces, Ashley Barstis, Stephanie Smith, Heather Russell, Megan Smith, a nephew, Matthew Russell, two aunts, Ruth (Barstis) Hastillo, Josephine (Barstis) Ring, their families and his loving extended family in Broad Brook, CT, and Anne's sister-in-law, June-Ann Greeley and son, Christopher F. Blossom and many extended family members all over the country. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane Russell and a brother, Thor Barstis. Calling hours are Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11am-1pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Funeral Home Service at 1pm. The burial will be private.
