Edward Boczon

1935 – 2018

Springfield – Edward Boczon, 82, was called safely home Friday night, surrounded by his loving nieces and nephews.  Edward was born and raised in Holyoke, lived in Agawam and Springfield most of his life.  He is the last of eleven children born to John and Anna (Kziazek) Boczon.  Edward was a retired employee of the United States Post Office in Springfield and served two terms with the United States Air Force.  He was a longtime communicant and was very active with the Basilica of St. Stanislaus in Chicopee.  Edward loved spending time with his family, especially Easter celebrations.  He leaves a sister-in-law Jeannette Boczon of Granby, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Edward was predeceased by his siblings: Adela Grady, Helen Smith, Dorothy Turgeon, Joan Mogul, Celia Turgeon, Gladys Toth, Theodore, Maxwell, Alexander and Joseph.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday, June 1 st at 9:30 with Liturgy in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 11:30am followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.  Visiting hours will be held Friday morning from 9:30 -10:30am.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Hero Organization.
