Edward J. Carrington, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Westfield, MA. He was born in Ludlow, MA on March 2, 1947 to the late Ernest and Shirley (Wolcott) Carrington. He grew up in Westfield and was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School. Edward joined the Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 40 years Susan K. (Burt) Carrington who predeceased him in 2008. He worked for seventeen years at the Red Cross and then for twenty years as a laboratory technician at Mercy Hospital. He was a member of Bethany Assembly of God where he sang in the choir for forty years. He enjoyed kayaking, fishing and hunting with his family members, and long time family friends as well. Ed was known for his infectious laugh and joy of singing and animated storytelling. He leaves a daughter and her husband, Heather L. and Nicholas Roussel of Souderton, PA, a son and his wife, Eric J. and Sarah Carrington of Thorndike, MA, five siblings, David Carrington (Jean) of Lyman, ME, Marilyn Watts (Delton) of Springfield, MO, Muriel Carrington of Weaverville, NC, Kathy Pelletier (Daniel) of Ellendale, ND, Daniel Carrington (Shane) of Dade City, FL, nine grandchildren, Allison White (Johnathon), Eric Carrington Jr. (Jessica), Ethan Carrington, Sean Roussel, Elianna Carrington, Ella Carrington, Emma Carrington, Emelia Carrington, Logan, and three great-grandchildren, Lillian White, Carter Carrington, Vivienne White and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 9:30am at Bethany Assembly of God, 580 Main Street Agawam followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
