Edward A. DiFiore, 89, of Springfield, passed away on October 5, 2018, at Blaire House of Worcester, with his family by his side. Born in Chelsea MA, son of Joseph and Jennie (Racca) DiFiore and loving brother to Nicki, Susan, Christopher, Carl and Herbie. Eddie grew up in Revere, MA,  and served as a Corporal in the Korean War. Eddie married Eleanor Heffernan in 1956 and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. He leaves behind three children, Diane Mastroianni and her husband Richard of Monson, MA, Edward J. DiFiore of Springfield, MA and his former wife Debbie (St. Marie) DiFiore, of East Longmeadow, MA, Lenore DiFiore of Cumberland, ME and her former husband Mark Baxter of Dunfermline, Scotland. Eddie was actively involved and took great pride in the lives of his seven grandchildren, Meredith, Amy, Jon, Sidney, Renee, Silvia, and Andrew, and four great-grandchildren, Avery, Bobby, Emma, and Anne. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Eddie was a mason by trade, but is most often remembered for managing the former Twilight Café in Indian Orchard, and as a custodian at Ludlow High School. He had a zest and passion in all he did whether it was building a patio, serving food and beverages, or playing pool and cards with his family and friends. You could always count on Eddie to be the first on the dance floor at celebrations! He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox. Eddie was fortunate to have had 89 healthy and fulfilling years and was loved by family and friends. He will be dearly missed. His family would like to thank everyone at Blair House of Worcester and New England Hospice for their loving care and kindness offered to Eddie during his residency there.  The committal service with Military Honors will be Thursday October 11 th at 2:00 pm at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
