Gallerani

Edward D. Gallerani, 90, died peacefully Tuesday in his sleep. He was born in Agawam, son of the late Arsenio and Emeline (Balboni) Gallerani, graduated from Agawam High School in 1945 and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a pharmacist who owned and operated Edward's, Arthur's and Key Drug stores with his brother Arthur Gallerani and sister Lorraine Labun. He retired in 2000. Ed was an avid woodworker and gardener. He was a member of the Agawam Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 478 and was a Eucharistic Minister. He leaves his loving wife of 44 years Irene (Sklepowicz) Gallerani, son Barry J. Gallerani and his wife Roberta of Bolton, daughter Anne G. Lattanzio and her husband Clifford of Suffield, CT, four grandchildren Taylor Patterson, Nicholas Gallerani, and Hilary and Parker Lattanzio. He also leaves behind his two great-grandchildren Cole and Charlotte Patterson. He was predeceased by his brothers Vincent, Alfred, Arthur, and Lawrence and his sister Lorraine Labun. The funeral will be Friday at 9 am from Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. John's Church at 10 am. Burial will be in the Mass Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
