Edward F. O'Brien Jr. passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017. He was born in Holyoke in 1935 and predeceased by his parents, Edward Sr. and Minnie O'Brien and siblings, Jim and Ann. He will be missed by his loving wife, Luvia Martinez O'Brien, who took wonderful care of him during his years of declining health; his children Tom O'Brien and Kelly Palm and their spouses Darlene O'Brien and Jeff Palm, He will also be missed by his 6 grandchildren:Jack, Liam, Hana & Chad O'Brien and Hunter and Tyler Palm as well as his first wife Jody O'Brien. He graduated from Holyoke High School and Colby College and worked as a probation officer for many years in Spfld MA. He proudly served his country in the Air Force for 2 years and 18 more in the Air National Guard and will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. He loved to read and play cards and beat Tom in 2 games of cribbage just last week. Calling hours will be Thursday March 16, 2017 at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:30pm. There will be a prayer service on Thursday at 6:30 pm.
