Obituary

WEST SPRINGFIELD-Edward A. Sypek, 82, died Saturday in the Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Springfield and lived all his life in West Springfield. He retired as an acting Captain for the West Springfield Police department in 1983. Edward was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Polish Veteran's Club and a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen (Bozek) Sypek September 6th. He leaves two sons, David A. Sypek and Mark E. Sypek and his wife Debbie, both of West Springfield, a sister Barbara Sypek of West Springfield and his cherished grandsons Matthew, Michael, Mark and Steven Sypek. He was also predeceased by his cherished granddaughter Laura A. Sypek and his brother Frederick. . The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the Mass on Wednesday at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 8:15 to 10:15 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soupy for Loopy Foundation, P.O.
