Edward Zukowski

1926 – 2017

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Edward Zukowski, 91, died Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born in West Springfield and has lived here his entire life. He served during World War II with the United States Army and was stationed in the China, Burma, India Theatre. He was a self-employed plumber and later worked with the Local 104 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for E.F. Corcoran Plumbing Company, retiring after 27 years. During his retirement he enjoyed working as a courtesy driver for the Bertera Auto Group. A longtime member of the Western Mass Model A Ford Restorers Club, he also was a member of the American Legion and VFW in West Springfield. He leaves his wife of 64 years Joan M. (Paquette) Zukowski; four children and their spouses; Mari-Jo and Howard Jones, Art and Sue Zukowski, Ruth and James Dickson, and Todd and Lisa Zukowski. He also leaves eight grandchildren Angela, Kristina, Nick and Alec Zukowski, Geoffrey Jones, Trisha and Cameron Dickson,  Kelley Stockhaus and her husband Bryan. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at noon followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
