FEEDING HILLS-Edwin W. Smith, 85, died Thursday in Baystate Medical Center. He was born and grew up in West Springfield and has lived in Feeding hills for many years. He served in the Navy during WWII and was well known to many along Springfield Street for his easy going nature and friendly smile. He leaves his wife June Smith, two sons, Edwin W. Smith and David Smith Rexford, a daughter Joyce A. Smith, a brother Norman Smith, three sisters, Lois Miodowski, Marlene Perrah and Andrea Guevin and three grandchildren, Ariana Rexford, Alexander Rexford and Erica Houck. Service and burial at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery are private and at the convenience of the family. Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
