Eileen M. Boisvert of the Arbor's in Chicopee passed away peacefully November 1, 2015 after a brief illness at her daughter's home in South Hadley. She was born on December 24, 1922 in her parents' home, Charles and Sarah (nee Ellis) Kirkham, 5 Bold Street, Widnes, Lancaster England. She lived in England until meeting her future husband, Edward Boisvert, an Air Force man stationed there. She came to the U.S. in 1952, and together they built their home on Deslauriers Street Chicopee in 1954, where she lived for over 60 years until a recent decline in health. She cherished her British roots and her home, tending her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was an avid reader, her collection of books was endless. She loved bowling, a member of two bowling leagues for many years. She made many lasting friendships, and was proud of her awards. She was a gifted seamstress and knitter, making many of her own clothes, and a new afghan every winter. Taking after her parents' craft ( Kirkham's Confections) she made delicious pastries for the holidays and special occasions. She leaves her cherished adopted children, daughter Gillian Bergeron Chartier and her husband Robert, and her son Colin Boisvert and his wife Candace. Her grandchildren Keri Bergeron, Shara Carver, Jessica, Melissa and Timothy Boisvert. Her great grandchildren Wyatt, Kenneth Jr. and Myah. She also leaves her eldest sister Muriel Kirkham, her beloved nephews and nieces, and extended family both in the U.S. and Across the Pond. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Olive Woodcock. A special thank you is sent to the staff at Arbors of Chicopee, Josie from Personal Touch, June Levan, Huguette Mizenko, and Bob Woodell, her best friends of many years who supported her through all of life's obstacles, Dan Hebert and Denise Rivet, the best neighbors any one could wish for. Donations can be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, Dakin Humane Society, or a charity of one's choice. When you hear a Beatles song, please remember Eileen.
