Eleanor W. Lollis

1949 – 2016

West Springfield – Eleanor W. (Thompson) Lollis, 67, formerly of Adrian Avenue died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family.  Eleanor was born in Portland, ME and has lived in West Springfield most of her life.  She was a graduate of West Springfield High School and had worked at the Stop & Shop in West Springfield.  She also worked at the former Caldor's and as a School Bus Driver in North Carolina.  She was a Vietnam Era Veteran and served with the United States Air Force.  She was active in the Town of West Springfield serving with the Veteran's Council, the Parish and Interfaith Association, volunteered with the West Side Helping Hands, the Philip Coburn Thanksgiving Dinner and a large variety of other things.  Eleanor was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ecumenical Vacation Bible School.  She leaves three daughters Kimberly M. Hoy, Katherine N. Lollis and Christina Chhoun; two grandchildren Jacob and Jacqueline Hoy; a sister Margaret Hayter and her family.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday, November 22 ^nd at 1:00pm followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service on Tuesday from 11:30am – 1:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church, 337 Piper Road, West Springfield, MA 01089.
