Elena Ayala
1922 – 2016

SPRINGFIELD – Elena Ayala, 94, died Tuesday in Baystate Medical Center. Her husband Guillermo Ayala-Medina died in 1980. She leaves five children, Maria E. Silva, Patricia R. Burgos, Mildred Martinez, Julio Ayala and Juan Vazquez. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren. A pillar of the community she was involved with the North End Citizen Council and worked to make positive changes in the North End neighborhood. Family and friends are invited to the funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:00am in All Soul's Church, Plainfield Street followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
