Elizabeth J. (Bojan) Grout, 77, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born on November 19, 1945 in Ludlow, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Twarog) Bojan, and a 1963 graduate of Ludlow High School. She lived in Springfield for twenty years before moving to Agawam many years ago. Elizabeth worked for Big Y as their floral buyer for over twenty years. She was devoted Catholic, and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam. She enjoyed hosting Tuesday night dinners with her family, and Saturday night date nights with her husband. Every Christmas Eve, Wigilia was celebrated with the traditional blessed Oplatki wishes. Grandma Betty loved reading, walking on her treadmill, and watching her grandchildren's sports games, theatrical performances, and singing concerts. Her physical presence will be greatly missed. She leaves her husband of fifty-six years, Almon T. Grout, two sons and their wives, Gary A. and Angela Grout of West Springfield, Brian T. and Michelle Grout of Wilbraham, two sisters, Helen Wojna of Springfield, Alice Mendes of Ludlow, five grandchildren, Olivia Grout, Maggie Grout, Derek Grout, Gavin Grout, Molly Grout and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Teddy Bojan; sister, Jean Wyrostek; niece Suzy Siegel; and nephew Todd Mendes. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
