FEEDING HILLS - Elizabeth L. (Abrams) James, 98 of Feeding Hills, died Saturday in a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born in Springfield and has lived in Feeding Hills her entire life. She was a graduate of New England Deaconess School of Nursing in Boston and started her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked in the local hospitals as well as in private duty. She was a member of both the Agawam Baptist Church and Enfield Baptist Church, the Springfield and Agawam Garden Clubs, the Agawam Historical Society, and the Amicitia Guild at the Agawam Baptist Church. Her husband William L. James died in 1999. She leaves her daughter Julie A. James of Feeding Hills. Besides her husband Elizabeth was predeceased by a son William L. James Jr.; her brother Creighton W. Abrams and sister Abbie M. Abrams. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at Heritage Hall East –Stepping Stones Unit. A private funeral will be held in the spring with burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. The Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
