Elizabeth A. (Price) McCarthy Krafchuk, 77, entered into on May 31, 2017. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Franklin) Price. She worked as a home health aide for 20 years before retiring in 2007. Elizabeth was awarded the Effie Chalmers Home Care Aide Services award in 1998. As a teenager she volunteered for the Salvation Army, becoming a Junior Soldier in 1954 and Senior Soldier in 1955. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved spending time with her family and was proud of her grandchildren's achievements. She bowled for 20 years at Chicopee Bowl and was known as being big hearted and a protector. She leaves three sons Richard J. McCarthy and his wife Kristina of Ludlow, James W. McCarthy and his wife Maryanne of Ludlow and Steven J. McCarthy and his wife Kristina of Chicopee, two brothers, Robert Price and his wife Caroline of East Longmeadow, Clyde T. Price and his wife Nancy of Guilford, NH, a sister, Edna Rainville of Agawam, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, her husband, Thomas J. Krafchuk and three step-children and step-granchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Richard J. McCarthy, a brother Arthur N. Price and a sister Verneta "DD" Brittain. The funeral will be Sunday at 7pm at the WEST SPRINGFIELD CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 Main Street. The burial will be private. Calling hours will precede the service on Sunday from 4-7pm.
