Elizabeth A. (Stelmokas) Sokol, 85, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ware, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Stolgitis) Stelmokas, she grew up in North Brookfield and was a 1956 graduate of North Brookfield High School. Elizabeth continued her studies at Springfield Technical Community College and Westfield State University. Elizabeth worked as the office manager for over forty years at Ameriprise Financial Services in Holyoke. She was the past president and longtime member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and active with the West Springfield Library organizing many of the bus trips to New York City. She savored cooking, baking and always enjoyed sharing her creations with family and neighbors. Elizabeth loved to travel throughout Europe. Locally she treasured summers on Cape Cod. She leaves a son and his wife, Michael W. and Julie Sokol of Longmeadow, a grandson, Nathan M. Sokol of Longmeadow, a sister, Catherine Buzzell of West Brookfield, a nephew, Arnie Buzzell of Charlton, a niece, Pamela Marquis of Brimfield, and a cousin, Irene Prouty of Hardwick. She will be missed by her three cats: Minnew, Baby and Goldie.
